The Department of  Physics with the aim of education and research in physical science began its activities in 1987. This department  offers undergraduate  programs leading to B.Sc. degree  in Nuclear Physics ,soild state and Atomic&Molecular Physics . This department also offers graduate programs leading to M.Sc. degree in Nuclear & Particle Physics, Atomic&Molecular Physics and Condensed Matter Physics. Also the Department of Physics offers Physical courses for students studying at different  departments in the  Bu Ali Sina university.

This Department has a chairman that administrates the department.The chairman of department is elected by faculty members' votes for two years.

Admission to this department is achieved through a nationwide entrance examination held annually by the Ministry of Science , Research and Technology .
